Nicholas's First Birthday

Our camera battery died, so we borrowed these pictures from my Aunt Sammi & Uncle Rich who came all the way up from South Florida for the birthday party. We had lots of fun, good food (if I do say so myself) and Nicholas loved all the attention. :)

I did get these pictures before the battery died. The cake pictures are from the night before, and the others are from the party.

And these are just random ones from my phone:

Nicholas got fun new toys, and some awesome Gator Getup, but here he is riding on his new Mickey Airplane.

He has been skipping his regular naps lately, so his schedule is out the window. As a result, I have been keeping him awake until I know he's going to sleep, and not just play and yell in his crib. This was in the Grocery Store parking lot (BEFORE we went in!) and I couldn't bear to wake him, so I let him sleep a few more minutes. :)

He sure is cute!

This is his favorite hangout spot lately. He climbs up there all the time, and it makes me so nervous, but telling him to get down and/or getting him down is futile. It just makes it more appealing to him. So, I pretend like I don't notice and get ready to catch him if I need to lol.

I can't believe my little baby is a year old! It's crazy, but fun. We love him so much and he is such a light in our lives.

Outdoors

The other day after church Nicholas plopped himself down on the grass, but it was pokey so he couldn't get himself up again. He was pretty cute down there though!

He sure does love his Dad. Aren't my boys handsome?

When he wakes up from naps, as well as a few other random times, he likes to sit on my lap and just relax. He kept looking up at me with the cutest faces, so I had to try and capture it from my point of view. :)

This morning we went on a walk to the big mailbox 1/2 a block away. Really, it's just through a parking lot and a half. He had so much fun though, and found these leaves on the ground, one for each hand. He held on to them the entire walk, and didn't want to give them up when we came inside!

I sure love this kid :)

Blankies, Binkies, and Bellies

What a little stud! He's just chillin'

He was trying to put his Daddy's sock on his foot here, so I helped him...

So, small confession: I trimmed his hair. You can see this is a before:

And this is an after:
Not much of a difference, but I just wanted to let it even out a little bit. Everyone said "Don't cut his hair, that's ridiculous" but I don't care. It's done, and I'm glad. :)

Here are a few pics of him walking around with his favorite blankie. Right now it's all gross because I think he puked on it yesterday but he won't give it up. I'll have to sneak in and take it after he falls asleep tonight so I can wash it.

Welcome!
