Happy Easter

We got together with Tyler's family today and every year his family does an easter egg hunt. There are 5 grandkids, and they all have a blast, and there are even easter eggs for the adults!

Can you find the easter eggs? :)

Afterward everyone was going through their loot, and one little guy (Hunter) was all tuckered out

Before the easter egg hunt though we went to a park to fly kites and Tyler and I were goofing around on the big toy...

All in all it was a pretty fun 'day before easter easter celebration' :)

Tag

OK I got tagged by Mrs Prax, so 6 things about me:
1)I love to cook and bake. I make up recipes all the time, using multiple recipes and concepts that I've put together. Tyler gets the good and bad that comes with that, because every once in a while, it comes out Not So Good. I haven't had the energy/motivation to do much baking for a while because i'm pretty beat by the time I get home from work. But Ty gave me a Bosch mixer for Christmas and so my latest project is re-perfecting my secret gingersnap recipe.
2)Most of the books I pick up, I finish within a few days. I have this awful habit of saying "I'll stop reading at the end of this chapter" and then I forget to stop... So this continues all night long until, at 3 in the morning, I find myself reading the epilogue or a preview to the next book in the series. Whoops!
3)American Idol makes me cry. Of course, that is just one of many things on the list of 'Things that make me cry"... Most every movie ever made, several random tv shows, other people crying... but I have at the least gotten teary eyed during every single episode of American Idol so far this season.
4)Tyler and I just took this little quiz on www.hgtv.com/together that tells us what 'style' of home decorating each of us likes, and how we can decorate to fit both our tastes. Haha, I am "rustic" and Tyler is "contemporary." That makes sense because I like distressed and antiqued looks, and Tyler likes everything perfect and new, like he just made it. :)
5)In March Tyler and I will have been married for 2 whole years! Wahoo!
6)I plan to own a fish within the next year. I think dogs and cats are cute, but don't really want to keep one at my house. So in an effort to have a pet I have chosen fish as my first attempt. I'll let you know when it happens.
Now, I'll tag my Mom. I'll call her and tell her what to do... :)

WANTED

We went to a fun party thrown by Tyler's sister Jackie tonight where we all dressed up in 'western wear' and we all brought foods that cowboys eat. :) We brought some killer baked beans! Here are some fun pictures from the fun party.

Side Jobs

Tyler did a side job the other day and it turned out really nice, so I thought I'd brag about my husband's mad cabinet skills today. :) This was a job for a couple in our ward/neighborhood who are remodeling their basement. Tyler did the bathroom cabinets for them:

I figured this was good to put on here because this is what we've been up to lately. :) For side jobs, Tyler gets to use the shop where he works and all of their equipment but just has to do it when he's not on the clock, so he's been staying late a few nights a week. This job wasn't too bad though, it really didn't take him as long as I thought it would! :) Here is the finished product:

Another Round...

We got about 4 more inches at our house last night... In the pictures from my last post you can see that everyone is out snowblowing and shovelling, and the road is nice and plowed, right? Well... apparently everyone decided if it's going to keep snowing this much, it's not worth it to even try and scrape it away anymore... :) This morning, there wasn't a soul on the street in our neighborhood, and the plows were nowhere to be found. Even driving to work, I think there was more snow on the freeway than there was on my street, but it was all slushy, and traffic was horrible! It's not like this was unexpected, the weatherman wore his white jacket last night :)
It was just a funny contrast, 2 days ago we all got up and saw that it had snowed and everyone went outside and got scraping, but today... I think everyone decided that 15 minutes of sleep was more worthwhile. :) word...

Welcome!
